Join this NGO who does wonders for the community as a Bookkeeper on a 4 month contract in Johannesburg North.
Responsibilities
- 1st releasing payments daily and 30-day supplier payments with General Manager
- Processing intern salary payments, Providing information and answering interns’ questions about payroll-related matters and resolving intern payroll errors
- Perform 3rd party verification of bank account details for all new suppliers
- Ensure adequate supporting documentation is in place before uploading invoices into finance system
- Ensure correct project allocations are provided when loading invoices into Hubdocs
- Invoice donors/funders on and adhoc and monthly basis
- Perform monthly creditors and debtor’s reconciliations
- Following up regularly on any outstanding debt and creditor payments and/or discrepancies
- Report monthly on summarised accounts payable and receivables
- Liaising with accounting company (that processes bank account entries, do bank reconciliation, do payroll allocation and control, VAT, ETI entries)
- Review all debit order transactions, e.g. internet, cellphone & insurance, to ensure they are valid and accurate
- Provide a monthly breakdown of debit order invoices for processing
- Reconcile eWallet expenditure and follow up on outstanding items
Requirements:
- Impeccable time-management skills
- Capability to stay organized and maintain detailed records
- Basic arithmetic competency
- Proven work experience as an Accounts Administrator or similar role
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
- Hands-on experience with accounting software
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
- Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
- Good organizational and time-management abilities
- Strong bookkeeping skills
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving techniques
