Job Description

A prominent South African online retailer seeks a highly talented CA(SA) to join their team as Head of Finance for their general finance team, based in Cape Town. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial, dynamic individual with strong financial acumen and leadership skills. As the successful incumbent, you will have proven experience in financial accounting, budgeting, reporting, and cash flow management, along with the ability to develop new frameworks in a fast-paced, growing e-commerce environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts’ payable function
• Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize working capital
• Manage the accounts’ receivable function
• Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize bad debt
• Monitor and report on accounts receivable aging and performance
• Oversee revenue recognition processes and analyze revenue trends
• Oversee inventory management and control processes
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of stock movements and valuations
• Monitor stock levels and optimize inventory turnover.
• Manage financial operations related to the company's third-party marketplace
• Monitor and report on marketplace financial performance
• Prepare and present financial reports
• Take full ownership of annual- and interim financial audits (internal and external)
• Work closely with FP&A team to complete the annual budget cycle
• Ensure full statutory compliance relating to indirect company taxes
• Lead and mentor the finance team
• Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews

Requirements:

• CA(SA) qualification
• 5+ years' experience in managing a finance team
• Experience in e-commerce or retail industry
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
