Job Description

Our client is an award-winning firm of chartered accountants and tax advisors headquartered in the UK, servicing clients across various industries in the UK and internationally. As the Financial Services division continues to grow from strength to strength, they are looking for a capable and passionate senior to deliver high quality audits to this sector. Working from their Cape Town offices in the CBD, the role will entail running audits for a variety of clients across UK and Europe etc.

Responsibilities

• Carry out audits using a bespoke risk-based audit approach
• Coordinate with the client, the manager and colleagues on the audit
• Plan, perform and oversee the audit process in line with agreed timetables
• Liaise with clients and complete audit testing
• Allocate responsibilities and delegate work to more junior members of the team
• Review team members’ work for accuracy and compliance
• Perform effective risk and control assessments
• Liaise with the manager to ensure work is reviewed and any queries addressed
• Present audit findings and find ways to increase compliance and efficiency
• Train, coach and encourage junior members of the team

Requirements

• CA(SA) or ACCA qualified or registered or eligible to register as a CA(SA)
• BSc/BA/BCom in Accounting, Finance or similar
• Completed Articles and Board Exams (SAICA)
• Exposure to the Financial Services space advantageous
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficient in using the Microsoft suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Experience of an electronic audit programme - CaseWare Accounts and Xero would be an advantage
• In-depth understanding of auditing standards and control practices
• Updated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations

Presence in their Cape Town office is required roughly 3 days per week – candidates must be based in Cape Town, or willing to relocate at their own cost.
