Job Description

A property specialist credit fund company, looking to employ a Financial Manager. This individual will be confident, experienced and able to manage the overall finance of the company. If you are driven, organized and thrive on solving problems, this role is for you.

Responsibilities: 

  • Review month end files and management packs
  • Present and discuss management packs with senior management
  • Submit monthly management packs and quarterly updates to shareholders and investors 
  • Review vat and income tax submissions
  • Act as liaison with auditors, schedule and complete audits, deal with queries and submit disclosures and requested information
  • Review individual and consolidated financial statements
  • Manage creditors control 
  • Review and approve payment requisitions
  • Review legal documents linked to each deal, ensure finance and legalities align
  • Liaise with investors regarding financial information requested on a ad hoc basis
  • Manage tax efficiency between the group companies
  • Prepare cashflow and profit forecast on a quarterly basis and prepare a comparison between budget vs actual
  • Present forecasts to senior management on a quarterly basis
  • Deregister older funds, companies and trusts in the group
  • Ensure sufficient cashflow to fund business operational requirements
  • Ensure sufficient capital cashflow levels to fund deal drawdowns 
  • Submit draw down notices to funders to draw more capital, ensure sufficient capital cashflow levels
  • Manage excess cash to obtain best level of return
  • Manage monthly compliance reports with external compliance contact
  • Ensure all FSCA submissions are submitted within deadlines
  • Ensure that business compliance procedures adapt to all changes requested by FSCA and FIC Act
  • Ensure funders receive Financial Statements and compliance certificates per requested deadlines
  • Ensure that no funder covenants are in breach with a new proposed deal
  • Calculate profitability of new deals
  • Discuss and advise which funding facility would be best
  • Evaluate and communicate cost of funding regularly to the credit team
  • Understand the deal, the security and explain to finance team when implementing the deal
  • Review legal documents before implementing and make sure credit approval aligns with legal documents
  • Review and monitor deals coming close to repayment date and flag to deal team
  • Make sure no criteria mentioned in credit minutes is in breach – if it is, flag to deal team
  • Review and manage process to monitor security levels as loans repay partially and consent to release of security
  • Liaise with attorneys regarding final settlement amount and timing of deals settling
  • Liaise with bank to secure funding for purchasing new properties or discuss release consideration for properties sold
  • Review outsourced retail monthly management packs
  • Liaise with agents regarding properties on the market, selling prices and offers to purchase
  • Liaise with property management agent, regarding short term rentals, home staging of units for sale, budgets for repairs and maintenance and upgrading of furniture
  • Desktop valuation of retail properties to determine rentals and valuation
  • Manage recruitment process of new employees with recruiters
  • Liaise with lawyers regarding review of employment contracts
  • Manage process of sending offer letters and employment contracts to successful candidates

Requirements: 

  • Qualification: CIMA or relevant bachelor’s degree 
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in Finance post articles, with compliance and financial modelling experience
  • Highly competent in excel and Advanced excel 
  • High Level of Integrity
  • Good social skills, able to adapt easily to any situation
  • Highly organized, able to stay calm and drive various tasks to completion 
  • Effective and clear communication with stakeholders
  • Able to identify risk, problems and problem solve it to minimize risk
