Job Description

This is a senior Finance Manager role for someone who enjoys complexity, variety, and being close to the business, not tucked away in a back office.

The client is a leading independent power producer operating across Africa, with South Africa at the centre of its growth strategy. The local team manages a portfolio of operational renewable energy assets, with new projects continuously coming online.  This role sits at the heart of that operation.

The opportunity 

Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll take full responsibility for the finance function across a portfolio of operational project companies.

Your scope will include:

• Full financial management and reporting across multiple SPVs
• Month-end, statutory reporting, audits and IFRS compliance
• Cash flow management, treasury, lender reporting and covenant compliance
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling support
• Acting as a finance business partner to operations and senior stakeholders
• Managing and supporting a small, capable finance team

This is a hands-on FM role in a fast-moving, asset-intensive environment, ideal for someone who enjoys juggling priorities and making sense of complexity.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to tick every box, but you should bring most of the following:

• Solid Finance Manager experience in a multi-entity / complex environment
• Renewable energy experience is highly advantageous
• Strong IFRS, reporting, tax and cash management capability
• Comfortable dealing with lenders, auditors and senior stakeholders
• Calm under pressure, adaptable, and able to hit the ground running
• CA(SA) is welcome, but not essential - relevant experience matters more

This role will suit someone who enjoys structure and controlled chaos, and who doesn’t need heavy hand-holding.

Working style & location

• Cape Town based
• Hybrid working model (after an initial in-office period)
• Occasional travel within South Africa
