Job Description

A well-established business in the wine industry is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Financial Accountant to join their finance team. If you are passionate about accuracy, compliance, and working in a dynamic environment, this opportunity offers exposure across financial reporting, statutory compliance, stock management, and forex administration.

What you'll be doing:

Financial and Accounting Duties

• Perform and post monthly bank reconciliations
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Process month-end journals
• Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation
• Reconcile tasting room daily cash-ups with bank statements
• Ensure accurate and timeous month-end and year-end reconciliations
• Calculate and process sales commissions accurately

Statutory and Tax Compliance

• Complete monthly EMP201 submissions
• Prepare quarterly Stats SA financial questionnaires
• Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
• Reconcile VAT accounts
• Handle payroll-related statutory returns and submissions to SARS

Stock Management

• Assist with stock takes and stock adjustments on the system
• Process stock transfer orders between locations
• Monitor and resolve stock discrepancies and transfer issues

Forex Administration

• Complete incoming foreign funds detail on NedTreasury
• Ensure all forex information is captured accurately before review

Admin and Support

• Support and train the finance team on accounting-related matters
• Assist with BEE information and audit requirements
• Assist with financial audit preparation and audit queries
• Liaise with the bank regarding administration and account changes
• Assist with finance system integration and payroll support where necessary

What you will need:

• Relevant BCom Degree
• SAIPA/CIMA articles completed (professional designation advantageous)
• Relevant financial and administration experience in a corporate environment
• Experience with Business Central will be advantageous
• Agri industry experience will be advantageous
• Own reliable transport essential
