The Role: 

• Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join their growing Cape Town team
• This is a hands-on operational finance role where the successful individual will take ownership of day-to-day finance activities across multiple entities within the group
• The position will work closely with senior leadership, operational teams, auditors, banks and external stakeholders
• The ideal profile is someone commercially minded, detail-oriented and proactive, who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting involved across the full finance function

Key responsibilities: 

• Manage day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities within the group
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting reconciliations
• Oversee cash flow, treasury activities, banking relationships and payment processes
• Support group reporting, consolidations, audits and statutory compliance requirements
• Ensure strong financial controls, governance and accurate financial records
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors, banks, SARS and external service providers
• Drive process improvements and support business growth initiatives, acquisitions and new ventures
• Provide hands-on financial support to senior leadership and operational teams

Requirements:

• BCom Accounting / Finance or similar qualification
• 5–8+ years’ finance or accounting experience
• Strong management accounting and full financials experience
• Experience within multi-entity or group environments
• Strong cash flow, treasury and reconciliations experience
• Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience
• Experience with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems

Advantageous Experience:

• Completed SAICA articles or strong audit background
• Exposure to group consolidations and intercompany accounting
• Exposure to fintech, lending, investments or high-growth businesses
• African or multi-country operational exposure
