Are you a dynamic Accountant seeking a new challenge in a thriving environment? If so, my client is seeking an Accountant with experience managing the accounting/financial function within a business. Prior experience having worked within either the Import & Export/Distribution/Retail sectors will be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Full Accounting function from source documents to AFS
- Daily sales reports from ERPLY and update Target sheet for each store
- Maintain schedule of customers with “special arrangements”; Manage debtors queries, settlement discounts, and ensure that commissions
- Provide bank with timeously shipping documents and invoices matched to incoming forex payments for bank release; Reconciliation of bank accounts, loan accounts, and creditors, including forex payments
- Keep monthly payment schedule up to date
- Payroll function, including submission of PAYE to SARS
- Budget management: prepare and analyse management accounts (including GP% and budget variance reports), notify management of material variances
- Build a monthly accounting function flow diagram incorporating all of the daily/weekly/monthly/annuals duties (including links to other departments)
- Develop a time management schedule including key priorities
- Reconcile debtors’ payments
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Degree in Accounting / Articles would be an advantage
- Experience in financial accounting, preferably in an Importer/Distributor/Retailer business
- Proficient in ERPLY and Xero systems (highly advantageous)
