Job Description

A leading JSE-listed entity is looking for a contract CFO to steer its strategic finance agenda across Africa and Asia. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role, where you’ll guide multi-jurisdictional finance operations and shape the financial future of two key international markets.

Who we are:
A diversified, globally respected group with a footprint, focused on innovation across a host of sectors. With a strong culture of ethical leadership, sustainability and excellence, this company is committed to driving meaningful progress.

What the role is about:
You’ll lead the finance strategy for the group’s Mauritius and China entities, ensuring financial integrity, compliance and operational excellence. This is a contract role offering immediate influence, executive exposure and the chance to contribute to group-wide growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance, tax, treasury, and compliance functions across Mauritius and China.
  • Drive accurate reporting cycles, budgeting, and annual financial statements.
  • Strengthen governance and ensure all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.
  • Engage proactively with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders.
  • Support procurement, trading operations, and regional expansion strategy.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, promoting performance and succession planning.

What we’re looking for:

  • CA(SA) or CAI; MBA is advantageous.
  • Proven leadership in a cross-border, multi-entity finance environment.
  • At least 15 years of finance experience, with 5–10+ years in executive roles.
  • Strong expertise in IFRS, treasury, tax planning, and entity compliance.
  • Previous experience in Mauritius IFC or similar financial centre preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with strong stakeholder influence and ethical judgement.

What’s in it for you:

  • Partner directly with group executives in a role that impacts global performance.
  • Gain exposure to complex, high-value international operations.
  • Work in a purpose-led culture committed to sustainability and innovation.
  • Be part of a high-performing, values-driven leadership team.
