What you will be doing:
- Supervise and process client accounting records, including receipts, sales and purchase invoices
- Perform bank, petty cash, and cash control account reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset registers and process asset disposals
- Prepare and post general journals such as depreciation, provisions, interest, salaries, stock, accruals, and bad debts
- Reconcile debtors and creditors statements
- Analyse trial balances and discuss results with clients
- Conduct analytical reviews of annual financial statements
- Produce draft financial statements and prepare related notes
- Identify provisions and contingent liabilities
- Calculate tax liabilities for individuals, sole proprietors, trusts, partnerships, close corporations, and small business corporations
- Reconcile VAT input and output to monthly trial balances
- Compile and present monthly management accounts to clients
- Prepare provisional tax calculations
- Request and follow up on client information
- Maintain strong client relationships and clear communication
- Manage a portfolio of clients independently
- Meet monthly deadlines consistently
- Apply working knowledge of payroll, VAT, and e-filing
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of five years’ accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Accounting degree will be beneficial
- Completion of SAICA or SAIPA articles will be beneficial
- Solid computer literacy
- Strong leadership, organisational, and client management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
