Job Description

A well-established wealth and asset management business is looking to appoint a Financial Manager to take ownership of the full finance function. This role offers the opportunity to enhance systems and processes, partner closely with leadership, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business, including exposure to potential acquisitions.

What you will be doing: 

  • Take full ownership of the finance function, reporting directly to the CEO
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Manage audit processes and ensure IFRS-compliant reporting
  • Oversee regulatory and statutory compliance (FSCA, SARS, Companies Act)
  • Manage cashflow, treasury, and overall financial controls
  • Oversee outsourced functions (including payroll via external providers)
  • Manage and mentor the bookkeeper, ensuring high-quality outputs
  • Review and manage commission structures and payroll-related processes
  • Drive system improvements, automation, and process efficiencies
  • Support potential M&A activity, including due diligence and financial analysis
  • Engage with auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders

Who we are looking for: 

  • CA(SA), ideally around 5 years post-articles
  • Financial services experience is essential (asset or wealth management highly preferred)
  • Strong technical grounding in IFRS, tax, and financial controls
  • Experience in a hands-on finance role within a lean team
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to partner with leadership
  • Systems-savvy, with a focus on improving processes and efficiencies
  • Comfortable operating in an environment with outsourced finance functions
  • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset
