What you will be doing:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage the integrity and accuracy of financial records
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including reconciliations, journals and supporting schedules
- Review work completed by the Junior Accountant
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling activities
Financial Control & Compliance
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and investigate variances
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial systems and policies
- Support compliance with lender requirements, regulatory obligations and governance documentation
- Assist with lender-related financial administration and reporting
Cash Management & Payments
- Manage cashbooks and perform bank reconciliations
- Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Oversee the end-to-end payment process
- Ensure payment governance and compliance with delegated authorities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Prepare supplier payments and reconciliations
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable records
- Prepare invoices and monitor outstanding balances
- Liaise with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders on account-related matters
Annual Financial Statements & Audit
- Assist with the preparation and review of Annual Financial Statements
- Coordinate annual audit requirements
- Liaise with external auditors and resolve audit queries
- Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes
Tax & Company Secretarial
- Manage VAT, income tax, provisional tax and other statutory submissions
- Prepare tax calculations, reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Liaise with SARS on compliance matters
- Maintain statutory records and submit annual returns and regulatory filings
Asset, Insurance & Development Reporting
- Maintain fixed asset and tax asset registers
- Support insurance administration and claims processes
- Assist with B-BBEE verification requirements
- Monitor and report on ED and SED expenditure and commitments
Continuous Improvement
- Drive efficiencies and automation within finance processes
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience
- Experience in infrastructure, project finance, asset management or renewable energy environments preferred
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial controls and statutory compliance
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and self-management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software systems
- Experience with Sage Intacct, CaseWare or QuickBooks advantageous
- Professional registration with SAIPA, CIMA or a similar professional body advantageous
