Job Description

My client, a stable and successful leader in their field in the wholesale and distribution sector, is in search of a hands-on Company Accountant or Financial Manager to take charge of the organization’s financial health. You will oversee the accounting function, ensuring precise financial reporting, and managing day-to-day financial operations. As the successful individual you will be a detail-oriented professional with strong ethical values and excellent attention to detail. 

Responsibilities:

  • Full function bookkeeping activities, ensuring accurate and current financial records 
  • Reconciliation of all accounts, including supplier statements, accounts payable and receivable, and bank statements
  • Preparation for authorization of payments, including foreign transactions, through online banking systems
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure the accuracy of the petty cash system
  • Coordinate month-end accruals and manage daily cash flow for bank accounts
  • Oversee the processing of sales, purchases, and payroll documents
  • Ensure timely submission of VAT, Income Tax (IRP5), and other statutory submissions via efiling
  • Support the preparation of budgets, cash flow forecasts, and management reports
  • Assist with the implementation and management of financial systems to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Coordinate with auditors for the year-end audit and ensure timely submission of CIPC Annual returns
  • Manage the full process of foreign imports, including cost calculations and compliance with banking regulations

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial accounting and bookkeeping 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Unwavering integrity and adherence to ethical standards
