Job Description

A leading organization in the Northern Cape seeks a dynamic and self-motivated Financial Manager to ensure financial sustainability and effective management of key financial practices. The ideal incumbent is goal-driven, possesses strong leadership skills, and has expertise in financial budgeting, operational management, and reporting. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders and the ability to implement and manage financial policies in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders to ensure the financial sustainability which includes the effective management of the following practices and processes:
  • Financial budgeting and forecasting
  • Operational financial management
  • General accounting and transactional financial oversight
  • Financial reporting
  • Auditing and financial governance
  • Cashflow management
  • Implement and managing financial policies in accordance with the standard operating procedures adopted by the organisation
  • Effectively managing all finance staff
  • Ensuring effective and efficient functioning of IT support, staff and procurement

Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Finance related degree
  • Relevant management experience in a financial environment
  • Experience in procurement processes
  • Proven high volume/detailed cashbook reconciliation experience
  • Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel and Sage Evolution Accounting System
  • Knowledge of the essentials of financial management
  • Information system and technology skills at intermediate level
  • Ability to analyse financial statements and interpret statistical data and budgets
  • Ability to process and understand complex and technical information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, record keeping and administrative abilities
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • An ability to work effectively and energetically around a demanding work schedule
  • Proven record of initiative, problem solving, and the ability to recognise and implement improvements to systems
  • Commitment to the principles, policies, and programme of action of the organization
