Job Description

My client is a leading product distributor based in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs seeking a dynamic Assistant Financial Controller to join their high-performing team. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with processing, analysing and capturing of cash flow information
  • Review daily cash book allocation in cash flow file
  • Follow-up and collect customers’ outstanding payments
  • Process information and maintaining subsidiary ledgers
  • Manage and process invoicing for ad-hoc and other internal stock orders
  • Distribute debtor statements and issue ESD credits and collection of debts
  • Run day end process, processing journals and resolving error batches
  • Process and update exchange rate information, performing monthly AR & AP re-evaluations
  • Assist with the completion of VAT calculations
  • Maintain and manage individual credit cards, replacements, international travel recons
  • Maintain and manage cell phone related transactions
  • Accurate and timely review of payments
  • Assist with balance sheet control account reconciliations
  • Assist with the maintenance of motor vehicle journals and manage fleet reports
  • Prepare for internal, external and BBBEE Audits
  • Provide continuous updates on stock pricing
  • Monitor and analyse monthly spend to budgets

Requirements:

  • SAIPA / CIMA qualified
  • Accounting degree or finance related qualification
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
  • Minimum of 8 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Experience in the FMCG industry essential
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
