A global brand is needing the assistance of a Accountant for a 7 month contract. It is a great opportunity to expose yourself to strong experience in the commercial and manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timeous financial reporting to the Group
- Verify accounting procedures comply with accounting policies and International Accounting standards
- Prepare supporting documents for tax returns VAT, PAYE, Income tax, SARB and STATS SA for all companies
- Manage the treasury group requirements and reporting
- Prepare exchange control applications needed for foreign payments
- Prepare weekly and monthly cashflow
- Maintain fixed assets register
- Ensure reconciliations done on all general ledger balance sheet accounts
- Implement and maintain strict adherence to Group internal controls policy
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensure all group audit issues are addressed and internal controls monitored
- Assist with external audit requirements and prepare audit samples
- Prepare journals for revaluation and reclassification of local and foreign debtors and creditors across all companies
- Check payment batches for local and foreign creditors
- Assist with month-end tasks and internal and external submissions
- Ad hoc tasks as and when required
Requirements:
- Financial qualification with Articles
- Good communication and people skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- High level of self-motivation and able to work independently
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
