Fantastic opportunity to join an lovely finance team as their Payroll Accountant. Role reports to the Head of Finance and calls for a good base of payroll and accounting skills, ideally with Sage People experience, too.
Full end-to-end payroll function. Great team culture.
Responsibilities:
- Full payroll administration, incl VIP and setting up payment batches on online portal
- Payslips and IRP5s, Group Life and Disability Benefits, Medical Aid and Provident Fund, UIF
- WCA
- Leave system maintenance
- Mid-year and tax year-end SARS recons and submissions
- Manage all payroll, benefits and tax queries
- Process employee movements (new employees and terminations)
- Record allowances and fringe benefits
- Prepare and update monthly salary forecastMonthly salary provisions
- Prepare monthly payroll recons and clear all reconciling items timeously
- Prepare payroll cash books for group companies and related staff trusts
- Handle investment instructions
- Prepare salary increase letters
- Prepare bank recons as well as third party
Requirements:
- Preference to a completed tertiary qualification
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ working experience within payroll and have accounting experience
- Good knowledge of Sage People and Accounting Systems (Accpac or other)
- Thorough understanding of tax legislation
- Strong knowledge and experience of PAYE and statutory compliance and understand employee benefits
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong planning and co-ordinating skills, good time management
- High aptitude for numbers
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
