Job Description
My client in the logistics industry is seeking a Financial Controller reporting into the Financial Manager in Umhlanga, KZN. Do you have SAICA Articles? If so, please apply.
- Keep accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS
- Identify financial risks, manage effectively, implement and monitor accounting procedures (IFRS)
- Implement internal controls and good governance framework
- Liaise with Directors, prepare consolidated annual budget, half year review and forecasts
- Put together accurate financial reports, submit to resident Directors, executive management team and non resident Board of Directors
- Prepare efficient, effective, and successful audit pack following all processes
- Resolve audit findings, prior to commencement of next year’s audit
- Maintain and manage effective organisation’s core finances, in transparent manner
- Implement enhancing and improved accounting and reporting systems where needed
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, submitted to relevant stakeholders, Directors, executive management team, address queries raised
- Manage full accounting functions including income statement, accounts receivable, accounts payable and assets for all subsidiaries
- Manage full payroll function
- Manage compliance with relevant SARS registrations and requirements(monthly, bi- annually, and annually)
- Manage compliance with relevant CIPC registrations and filing requirements including all secretarial resolutions
- Manage cash flows to meet organisational needs
- Liaise and maintain existing relationship with organisation’s bankers
- Review all Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments
- Ensure all documents are appropriately filed, and adequately labelled to ensure easy retrieval of documents
- Qualification: B.Com in Financial Accounting or Financial Management, completed articles with a accredited audit firm
- A Membership with either SAICA, ACCA or CIMA advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in core finance environment, with a minimum of 3 years management experience
- Advanced MS Excel, Graphs, Pivots and V-Lookups (will be tested in interview stage)
- Advanced capability to do Financial Modelling for desired results and / or analysis or reporting
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a high emotional intelligence (EQ)
- Strong planning and organisation skills, attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to use analysis, logic, innovation, experience, skill, and knowledge to solve problems
- Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Ability to use discretion and deal with sensitive information in a confidentially and professionally
