Job Description
My client has a unique opportunity available for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and reputable cold storage operator that provides management solutions. You will be someone with a strong personality, be tech savvy and have a knack for working in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines. Your attention to details is vital when seeing to the accounting principles, procedures and financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate processing of expenses to correct General Ledger accounts and departments
- Create new ledger accounts in the General Ledger
- Prepare journal entries
- Perform intercompany reconciliations
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register
- Preparing fixed asset purchase approval documents
- Oversee the full creditor’s function
- Issuing of purchase orders for approved orders
- Update monthly electricity schedules
- Daily capturing of bank transactions
- Ensure that general ledger accounts are kept up to date
- Prepare bank, petty cash and inventory reconciliations
- Perform VAT reconciliations
- Prepare and submit the VAT201
- Monthly analysis of fleet cards and allocation of fuel cost
- Assist with the preparation of supporting documents for relevant SARS audits
- Assist with audit file preparation for both internal and external auditors
Requirements:
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
- BCom Accounting/ Finance degree
- Minimum of 2-3years’experience in an accounting role within a medium sized organisation
- Microsoft Dynamics Nav experience (advantage)
- Experience in MS Office and MS Excel Intermediary to Advanced level
