Are you the kind of finance professional who enjoys getting stuck into the detail, but also loves mentoring a team and making a real impact? If you’re a qualified CA(SA) who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys collaboration, and wants to be part of a business where your voice matters—this might be the opportunity you've been waiting for. We’re looking for a Financial Controller who’s not just great with numbers, but someone who takes ownership, enjoys leading a team, and is passionate about improving systems and processes. You’ll be joining a global commodity trading business that’s serious about growth, excellence, and empowering its people.

Whether you’re ready to step up or looking for a new challenge in a more empowering environment, this role offers a chance to work closely with senior leadership and truly influence the finance function.

Responsibilities:

  • Own financial month-end: From balance sheet integrity to foreign currency revaluations and consolidated reporting, your precision will set the tone.
  • Drive SGA reporting: Compile and manage detailed monthly budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Lead audits confidently: Ensure internal and external audits are clean, with effective controls in place.
  • Manage fixed assets & CAPEX: Oversee the Fixed Assets Register, IFRS 16 reporting, and insurance coordination.
  • Team leadership: Mentor, coach, and grow your finance team while building succession and backup plans.
  • VAT & tax compliance: Ensure accurate calculations, submissions, and respond to tax audits as needed.
  • Treasury & banking: Handle daily banking activities, group reporting, hedging, and cash management.
  • Innovate constantly: Champion process improvements, automation, and enhanced internal controls.
  • Support strategic reporting: Collaborate with the MD and CFO on operational reviews and depot presentations.

Requirements:

  • CA(SA) with at least 2 years of people management experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Clear, confident English communication
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, drive results, and lead a team with empathy and precision
  • Bonus Points for: Experience in the Agri, grain, or commodities trading sector, working in a multinational environment and familiarity with SAP S/4 HANA or SAP BPC
