We’re on the lookout for a strategic Financial Manager who’s equally comfortable in the boardroom and on the ground — someone who can lead with insight, inspire with innovation, and deliver with discipline.
About the Role
As one of three Financial Managers in a major logistics division (part of a top-tier SA group), you'll be responsible for steering financial strategy across a 500–600 person portfolio covering ocean freight, air, customs, and forwarding. This role demands more than technical strength — it calls for a hands-on leader who can elevate teams, drive digitisation, and embed finance at the heart of operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of ±40 finance professionals, unlocking growth and capacity
- Own strategic financial planning, budgeting, and scenario modelling across regions
- Champion financial systems optimisation and data-driven reporting (Power BI, ERP, Cargowise)
- Strengthen governance, audit readiness, and ISO-aligned compliance controls
- Partner with EXCO and operations to deliver insight, pricing support, and cost optimisation
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, from FX exposure to working capital cycles
- Embed financial thinking into tenders, procurement, and service innovation
What We’re Looking For
- CA(SA) or CIMA with a BCom Honours in Finance or Accounting (essential)
- 5–8 years in senior finance roles, ideally in logistics, freight, or supply chain
- Expertise in financial modelling, reporting, risk management, and pricing strategy
- A strong grasp of ISO, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Advanced ERP, Excel, and BI tools proficiency
- Demonstrated leadership with the ability to coach, inspire, and elevate a large team
- Strategic mindset, operational savvy, and an appetite for change and innovation
