Keep the numbers sharp and the business smarter – my client is looking for a Temp Accountant to join their Cape Town team for 6 months!
They are a fast-moving, tech-enabled business where finance is more than just numbers — it’s about insight, impact, and continuous improvement. With a team member going on maternity leave, they are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bring structure to the financial processes, and help keep everything ticking behind the scenes.
What’s the role all about?
This is a key support role within the Finance team, managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities while ensuring data accuracy and compliance. It’s ideal for someone detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including P&L and balance sheets
- Own the end-to-end payroll reporting processes
- Manage banking activities and reconciliations
- Handle intercompany entries, reconciliations, and transfer pricing
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and revenue analysis
- Oversee debtor management and drive timely invoicing and cash flow tracking
- Assist with audit processes and documentation
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
What we’re looking for:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional accounting certification (SAIPA / CIMA / ACCA) is a bonus
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, payroll, budgeting, and compliance
- Detail-driven, analytical, and able to meet deadlines under pressure
- A collaborative team player who communicates clearly across departments
- Adaptable, with a growth mindset and readiness to take initiative
