Job Description

A well-established investment and financial services group is seeking a Financial Manager to join its Cape Town–based finance team. This role offers exposure to complex group reporting, consolidations, and stakeholder engagement within a sophisticated, fast-paced environment.

About the role:

In this role, you will be responsible for the financial reporting and statutory obligations across designated business units within a group structure. You’ll work closely with senior finance leadership and stakeholders, contributing to both routine reporting cycles and ad hoc finance initiatives throughout the year. The role offers a strong mix of technical financial accounting, group consolidation exposure, and stakeholder engagement, making it well suited to a CA(SA) who enjoys hands-on involvement while also contributing to broader business discussions.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage financial reporting for designated entities within a group environment
  • Prepare management and statutory financial reports, including consolidations
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee tax compliance and related reporting obligations
  • Prepare holding company and group annual financial statements (AFS)
  • Support and manage finance-related projects across the cluster during the year
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, contributing to business and strategic discussions
  • Manage the intercompany loan confirmation process
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting cycles and ad hoc finance deliverables
  • Prepare fund flow and AUM reporting

Who we are looking for:

  • CA(SA) qualification (essential)
  • Approximately 3+ years’ experience in a financial accounting role
  • Proven experience compiling complex group annual financial statements
  • Strong exposure to consolidations and a solid understanding of IFRS
  • Financial services experience advantageous, but not essential for strong technical candidates
  • Experience working in structured, deadline-driven environments

Technical and personal attributes:

  • Exposure to financial reporting and consolidation systems
  • Experience with large ERP accounting systems
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office capability
  • Highly detail-oriented, organised, and accurate
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working under pressure
  • Collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you do not hear from us within 10 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
