What you will be doing:
- Manage the full debtors function: invoicing, allocations, collections, reconciliations
- Ensure accurate, timeous invoicing aligned to contracts, rate cards, PODs, and SLAs
- Monitor age analysis and drive reduction of debtor days
- Implement and enforce credit control policies and evaluate customer creditworthiness
- Prepare monthly debtors reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Handle escalations, payment arrangements, and legal handovers when necessary
- Build strong relationships with clients to support timely payments
- Lead, supervise, and develop the debtors team
- Oversee performance management, coaching, recruitment, and training
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, POPIA, internal controls, and labour legislation
What we are looking for:
- Matric (essential)
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a debtors management role
- Transport/logistics industry experience advantageous
- Proven team‑management experience
- Strong Excel and accounting system proficiency (Sage, Pastel, SAP, or similar)
- Strong analytical, credit assessment, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Professional, fair, and consistent leadership style
