What you will be doing:
- Supporting the Head of Finance in day‑to‑day finance operations
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
- Ensuring accurate general ledger processing, reviews, and reconciliations
- Managing cash flow planning and banking processes
- Overseeing debtors, creditors, and revenue reconciliations
- Ensuring SARS compliance and all statutory submissions
- Participating in and managing year‑end audit processes
- Implementing and maintaining financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Identifying and driving finance process improvements
- Monitoring operational costs and ensuring accurate cost allocations
- Leading and developing junior finance staff
- Building a high‑performance culture within the finance team
- Partnering effectively with operational teams to support business objectives
What we are looking for:
- BCom Accounting / Finance degree or equivalent
- SAICA AGA, SAIPA, or CIMA (essential)
- 2–3 years’ post‑article experience in a commercial / non‑audit environment
- Proven experience managing people and finance processes
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience in transport, logistics, or operational environments (advantageous)
- High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
- Proven leadership and team development capability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Ability to manage pressure, deadlines, and multiple priorities
- Process‑driven mindset with ability to identify inefficiencies
