The Opportunity

This isn't a role for someone who wants to process invoices and disappear into a spreadsheet. It's the chance to be the senior finance mind in a South African business that answers to an international head office, the person leadership, both locally and in Europe, turns to for clarity, control and commercial judgement.

You'll run the finance function end-to-end, with direct visibility into how a fast-growing renewable energy business is built, funded and reported across borders. It's hands-on, it's high-trust, and it comes with a real seat at the table.

What you'll own:

• Full ownership of the accounting function,  ledgers, journals, reconciliations, and monthly management accounts that leadership actually relies on
• The numbers behind the story: preparing reporting packs and financial statements that feed straight into an international group's decision-making
• Tax and statutory compliance from end to end, VAT, income tax, CIPC, payroll taxes and SARS Public Officer responsibilities, so the business never misses a beat
• Monthly payroll, processed accurately and on time, every time
• The annual audit relationship, coordinating the process, preparing the files, and being the person auditors trust
• A direct line to Head Office and local leadership, you'll be the financial voice they hear from regularly, not once a quarter

• A builder who's comfortable owning a function, not just maintaining one
• A problem solver who brings answers, not just questions, to leadership
• An operator who can move confidently between local detail and international reporting

What you'll bring:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 5+ years' hands-on accounting experience, ideally having run a full finance function
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles (highly advantageous); SAICA/SAIPA/AGA(SA)/CIMA registration a bonus
• Strong command of South African tax, VAT and statutory compliance
• Experience preparing annual financial statements and managing payroll
• Advanced Excel skills and solid Sage experience
• Comfort working with international stakeholders and reporting lines
