Are you a hands-on finance professional who enjoys understanding what really drives a business, not just reporting the numbers after the fact?

This is a great opportunity to join an established Cape Town-based manufacturing business in a broad finance role with real exposure to costing, pricing, margins, stock and operational decision-making.

What makes the opportunity interesting?

You won’t be sitting in a narrow reporting role. You’ll work closely with the operational side of the business, helping management understand costs, margins and pricing while keeping a strong handle on the core financial accounting function.

Depending on your experience, there is also scope for the role to grow beyond a single entity and into broader group-level responsibility.

You’ll get involved in:

• Monthly management accounts, budgeting and financial analysis
• Costing and margin analysis
• Pricing reviews and assessing the impact of supplier increases
• Updating pricing for manufactured recipes
• Inventory control and coordinating stock counts
• Reviewing stock balances and margins
• Month-end processing and general ledger accounting
• Bills of materials
• Supporting branches and management with financial information and analysis
• Oversight of tax and compliance submissions

What we’re looking for:

You’re likely someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understands the commercial story behind the numbers and is comfortable working in an operational environment.

• Completed finance degree with about five years relevant experienc
• Manufacturing, costing, stock or inventory experience would be highly relevant
• Pastel Evolution experience would be advantageous
• Previous experience managing a small team would be useful, but it is not essential
• Most importantly, you’ll be someone who wants a broad role where you can have an impact, solve problems and grow your level of responsibility over time
• Cape Town based
