Job Description

Behind every successful business is a finance team that keeps things running smoothly. Could you be part of it?

If you're someone who loves getting the details right, enjoys solving problems and takes real pride in keeping accounts in order, this could be a great next move for you.

We're working with an established, fast-paced business in the FMCG and hospitality space that is looking for a capable and hands-on Accounts Payable Controller to join its finance team.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an important part of the finance function, work with a variety of suppliers and play a key role in ensuring that payments, reconciliations and month-end processes run smoothly.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just process invoices but understands the bigger picture. Someone who spots discrepancies, follows through on queries and knows that accuracy and strong supplier relationships make a real difference.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Managing supplier invoices, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Preparing supplier reconciliations, remittance advice and creditor age analyses
  • Preparing and loading supplier payments for release
  • Investigating discrepancies and resolving supplier queries
  • Maintaining accurate accounts payable and general ledger records
  • Ensuring invoices and statements are received ahead of month-end deadlines
  • Supporting smooth month-end processes and accurate financial reporting
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and confidentiality

What we're looking for

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 3 years' practical accounts payable experience
  • Experience within FMCG, hospitality or the quick-service restaurant industry
  • Working knowledge of Sage Pastel and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
  • A responsible, ethical approach to handling financial information

The person who will thrive here

You're naturally organised, comfortable working in a busy environment and someone who takes responsibility for seeing things through.

You enjoy working with numbers, but you're equally comfortable communicating with suppliers and colleagues to resolve issues.

You're proactive, dependable and understand that even the smallest details matter when it comes to keeping a finance function running efficiently.

If you're ready to bring your experience, accuracy and problem-solving skills to a business where your contribution matters, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note if you haven’t heard back from us within two weeks of submitting your application, unfortunately your application has not been successful this time. We’d still love to stay connected, follow us online and keep an eye out for future opportunities that match your profile.
