Do you thrive on accurate numbers and clean reconciliations? We're looking for a Accountant to keep the finances of a growing South African financial services business running smoothly.

This role sits at the heart of our finance function. You'll own the day-to-day accounting that keeps the business in control, from cashbooks to management accounts. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you'll also get involved in audits, budgeting and projects that shape how we work.

What you will be doing:

• Processing weekly cashbooks across ZAR and foreign currency accounts, and completing bank reconciliations
• Processing weekly revenue and reconciling debtors monthly
• Working with the commissions team to resolve commission-related queries
• Reviewing and signing off creditors reconciliations, then preparing bi-monthly supplier payment schedules
• Preparing and executing payments on the banking platform
• Running monthly payroll and liaising with the payroll department on any issues
• Reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly, including intercompany debtor, creditor and loan accounts
• Maintaining monthly budgets
• Preparing monthly management accounts and responding to group finance queries
• Supporting the annual audit, including audit packs and queries
• Assisting the Financial Manager with ad-hoc projects

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional qualification (SAICA, ACCA or CIMA) advantageous
• 3–5 years' experience in a financial accounting role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
