Job Description

My client, an established and experienced investment holdings and category 1 FSP, seeks a Treasury Trade Support to join them. Our ideal candidate will be a representative who holds RE5 and who is registered with the FSCA, to support the Treasury team with money market instruments, deposits and derivative instruments to facilitate their group of companies mandated cash requirements. This role will also require you to assist with FICA reviews and daily market data distribution. We’re looking for a good all-rounder trade support resource to assist the Treasury Manager, managing financial market requests, overall treasury support as well as assisting with process improvements where there is opportunity to do so. Responsibilities:

  • Daily liaison with financial institutions, to gain market knowledge, build relationships – enable companies in the group invest/disinvest financial products to the advantage of the whole group 
  • Perform daily transactions timeously and accurately, in line with company mandates to ensure professional service 
  • Manage inputs to the treasury system (IT2) ensure correct reporting
  • Run various reports with economic information taken from financial platforms, Sent out timeously and accurately, daily, weekly and monthly
  • Provide interest recon of all clients’ investment accounts monthly
  • Produce monthly report of relevant financial institutions’ credit ratings
  • Manage electronic filing of treasury department
  • Assist with FICA process of treasury clients
  • Ensure mandates of clients correspond with IT2 and that changes are made
  • Run projects identified to automate and streamline processes, use Power Apps or Power BI together with the treasury team
  • Review and advise on updates to identify Policies & Procedures, control documents, SOP’s and Best Practices documents keep it relevant and up to date with legislation

Requirements: 

  • Tertiary qualification recognized for Financial Services Providers and Compliance professionals and listed in Board Notice 51 of 2017
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial services industry
  • Must holds RE5 and be a representative registered with the FSCA, for category 1 products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good team player
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Good communication skills written and verbal
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite and any treasury systems knowledge a plus
  • Highly organized and structured, with strong numerical skills 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Enjoy improving processes, problem-solving and working efficiently
