Job Description

We are looking for a commercially minded Financial Manager to take ownership of financial management across a growing business, with the chance to work closely with senior leadership and directly shape reporting quality and financial control.

What you will be doing:

Financial Reporting

• Manage the monthly accounting and reporting process
• Review and finalise monthly management accounts
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
• Review journals, accruals and provisions
• Assist with annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain accurate financial records across all group entities

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist with annual budget preparation
• Prepare monthly forecast updates
• Monitor actuals against budget and investigate variances
• Support management with financial analysis

Treasury and Cash Flow

• Monitor daily and weekly cash flow requirements
• Assist with liquidity planning and forecasting
• Manage banking relationships
• Prepare funding and covenant reporting for lenders

Compliance and Governance

• Support compliance with Companies Act, SARS, VAT201, ITR14, IRP6 and NCR requirements
• Coordinate annual audits and statutory submissions

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor the finance team
• Allocate work and review output
• Support staff development and performance management

Operational Finance

• Review creditors and payment runs
• Monitor debtors and collections
• Oversee fixed asset and finance lease accounting
• Identify process and efficiency improvements

Management Reporting

• Prepare reports for management and board meetings
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis
• Support the Finance Director with strategic initiatives

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of a completed BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or similar advantageous 
• Minumum of 5 to 8 years finance experience with at least 2 years in a financial management role
• Experience managing a small to medium finance team
• Strong month-end, management accounts and annual financial statement experience
• Advanced Excel skills
