Do you thrive on getting into the detail while leading a team? We're looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of financial management and reporting across an established, multi-entity group.

What you will be doing:

• Managing the finance function across six group entities
• Overseeing and taking part in month-end and year-end close
• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Performing and reviewing journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Investigating discrepancies and resolving month-end issues
• Managing and reconciling intercompany transactions across the group
• Working with transactions in multiple currencies
• Preparing and reviewing annual budgets, forecasts and financial projections
• Analysing performance against budget and explaining material variances
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns and related reconciliations
• Performing high-level income tax calculations and reviewing tax reconciliations
• Reviewing payroll-related tax reconciliations, including PAYE, EMP201 and EMP501
• Supporting SARS and statutory compliance
• Leading, reviewing and developing a finance team of four
• Maintaining strong financial controls and accounting standards

What we are looking for:

• CA(SA) 4 - 5 years post articles outside of firm
• At least 5 years' relevant finance or accounting experience
• Accounting and/or auditing articles (highly advantageous)
• Experience in a group or multi-entity environment
• Strong, hands-on intercompany accounting and reconciliation experience (essential)
• Experience with multiple currencies
• Working knowledge of IFRS
• Strong South African tax knowledge, especially VAT and tax reconciliations
• Experience preparing and reviewing budgets and forecasts
• Previous experience managing or supervising a finance team
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables and large data sets
• Sage 200 (Evolution) experience (advantageous)
• The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfort with frequent change and the ability to adapt quickly
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong leadership and communication skills
