A dynamic opportunity is available with a prominent client in the FMCG sector for a qualified and experienced Financial Manager to drive financial operations, produce IFRS-compliant reports, and implement robust controls. Located in Cape Town Southern Suburbs, this role requires tech-savviness, strong analytical skills, and leadership abilities to enhance governance, streamline processes, and lead cross-functional teams. The ideal individual will be CA(SA) qualified or hold a BCom degree in Finance, be self-motivated, deadline-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the operations of the accounting department
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to all staff in the finance department 
  • Manage and ensure all production processes and procedures are followed
  • Assist in the management of various financial accounting functions
  • Review and submit monthly management accounts
  • Prepare quarterly board packs
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows and predicting future trends
  • Facilitate the half-year and year-end audit process (June and December)
  • Manage governance and compliance including improving internal controls
  • Oversee performance management of finance staff, including setting of KPI’s
  • Manage finance related systems and internal controls
  • Assist with management of Net working capital and forex exposure
  • Manage and complete provisional and income tax computation
  • Assist with ad hoc projects

Requirements:

  • CA(SA) qualified or 
  • BCom in Financial Accounting
  • Minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience within a similar role
  • Experience within the FMCG environment (advantageous)
  • Knowledge and experience with Accounting and Enterprise Systems, Taxation legislation
  • High level of Computer literacy with MS Office, MS Excel and ERP systems
  • Strong management skills
