A dynamic opportunity is available with a prominent client in the FMCG sector for a qualified and experienced Financial Manager to drive financial operations, produce IFRS-compliant reports, and implement robust controls. Located in Cape Town Southern Suburbs, this role requires tech-savviness, strong analytical skills, and leadership abilities to enhance governance, streamline processes, and lead cross-functional teams. The ideal individual will be CA(SA) qualified or hold a BCom degree in Finance, be self-motivated, deadline-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing the operations of the accounting department
- Provide leadership and mentoring to all staff in the finance department
- Manage and ensure all production processes and procedures are followed
- Assist in the management of various financial accounting functions
- Review and submit monthly management accounts
- Prepare quarterly board packs
- Manage budgeting and forecasting
- Monitor and interpret cash flows and predicting future trends
- Facilitate the half-year and year-end audit process (June and December)
- Manage governance and compliance including improving internal controls
- Oversee performance management of finance staff, including setting of KPI’s
- Manage finance related systems and internal controls
- Assist with management of Net working capital and forex exposure
- Manage and complete provisional and income tax computation
- Assist with ad hoc projects
Requirements:
- CA(SA) qualified or
- BCom in Financial Accounting
- Minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience within a similar role
- Experience within the FMCG environment (advantageous)
- Knowledge and experience with Accounting and Enterprise Systems, Taxation legislation
- High level of Computer literacy with MS Office, MS Excel and ERP systems
- Strong management skills
