Our client is an innovative fintech company transforming access to financial services across Africa. Working with leading FS partners, they combine technology, data and commercial insight to deliver financial products that create meaningful impact at scale. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical ability who wants to move beyond reporting and become a trusted commercial partner influencing new markets, products and growth initiatives.

 

This role does work on a remote-first model but due to occasional project collaboration on-site the preference is towards candidates based in Cape Town.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Support the development and execution of commercial strategies across multiple African markets.
  • Analyse new product and market opportunities, producing commercial models and opportunity sizing.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis and commercial assessments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Country Managers and Strategic Partnership teams to optimise commercial performance.
  • Build financial models, forecasts and performance reporting to support commercial decision-making.
  • Develop high-quality presentations, business cases and executive reports that clearly communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies, commercial negotiations and go-to-market initiatives with key financial services and telecommunications partners.

 

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics.
  • Approximately 3-5 years' experience in a commercial, business analytics, strategy, consulting or FP&A role.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modelling capability are essential.
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and visually.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to engage with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Someone who thrives in an autonomous, fast-moving environment and enjoys taking initiative.
  • Experience in banking, telecommunications, consulting, financial services or fintech.
  • Exposure to AI tools (Claud) and modern ways of working.
